The new Volvo XC40 facelift will only be offered in a single trim option in India

Volvo recently launched the new XC40 facelift in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 43.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) as a part of the introductory offer for the festive season. Once the introductory offer expires in the country, the Volvo XC40 facelift will be priced at Rs 45.90 lakh (ex-sh0wroom, Delhi). For those wondering, the previous iteration of the Volvo XC40 was priced at Rs 44.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Here are all the details you should know about the new Volvo XC40 facelift in India.

New Volvo XC40 Facelift

To start with, the Volvo XC40 will be powered by a 2.0-L turbo-petrol engine that comes with a 48V integrated starter-generator motor. This setup churns out a combined output of 197 hp and 300 Nm of peak torque. An 8-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox comes mated to this engine and channels power to the front wheels only. The brand is now offering a hybrid powertrain option with all the offerings in India.

On the design front, the new Volvo XC40 facelift gets an updated front fascia that is largely dominated by angular headlights and Thor’s hammer inspired LED Daytime Running Lamps. It also gets a redesigned front bumper with angular creases and updated fog lamp surrounds. The front grille however remains similar to the outgoing version. The new facelift model also misses out on a R-design trim and lacks sportier treatment and dual-tone paint schemes foor the buyers. The SUV rides on 5-spoke silver alloy wheels while the rear styling is same as before. Two new exterior colour options are also on offer for the buyers – Fjord Blue and Sage Green.

Inside, the cabin remains mostely similar but does get a new wood trim on the dashboard and the doors. The infotainment system has been now updated and is offered with Google’s Andorid Operating System. It also gets many Google apps such as voive-controlled Google Assistant, Google Play Store, Google Maps and other Google Services. It will also get over-the-air (OTA) updates. Other features like advanced air purifier with PM 2.5 filter, wired Apple Carplay, 14-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system, adaptive cruiser control, pilot assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert with forward and rear collision mitigation are also on offer with the new Volvo XC400.

In the Indian market, the new Volvo XC40 facelift will rival other entry-level SUVs like the Mercedes-Benz GLA, Mini Countryman, BMW X1, and the newly launched Audi Q3. For those wondering, the Mercedes-Benz GLA is prcied from Rs 44.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) while the new Audi Q3 is priced from Rs 44.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
