With the automotive market now showing positive growth in the country, a number of carmakers have extensively expanded their Indian portfolio with the launch of many VFM and feature-rich offerings in the market. Just like most of the automotive brands, Maruti Suzuki is also working on launching a number of new cars and here is a list of the top 5 upcoming Maruti cars in India.

Upcoming Maruti Cars In India

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara

The new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will be the first big launch from Maruti in the coming few weeks and will be the first hybrid SUV in the country. The car has been co-developed by Maruti and Toyota and is based on Suzuki’s Global-C platform. the Grand Vitara will be offered with two engine options – a 1.5L K15C Dual-Jet petrol engine and a 1.5L TNGA petrol strong hybrid engine with Intelligent Hybrid Tech. While the K15C engine will come mated either to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AT gearbox, the strong hybrid engine will only be available with an e-CVT gearbox. Six different variants of the new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will be on sale for Indian buyers – Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha, Zeta Plus Hybrid, and Alpha Plus Hybrid. Having said this, the new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will also get 9 different exterior colour options – 6 monotone and 3 dual tone. On the features front, the brand will be offering features like a sunroof, automatic climate control, touchscreen infotainment system, steering mounted controls, wireless charging pad, digital instrument console, connected car tech, auto-dimming IRVMs, rear-AC vent, and more.

Maruti Suzuki YTB SUV

Maruti Suzuki first showcased the new YTB SUV concept at the Auto Expo 2020 and is expected to soon launch the car in the Indian market. The new YTB Coupe SUV will be based on the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno and is expected to share most of the critical components with this premium hatchback including the powertrain options. From what we know so far, the new YTB SUV will be powered by the same 1.2L petrol engine and will be offered with manual as well as automatic gearbox options. The YTM SUV will get a coupe like styling and will boast an elegant and bold look. Inside, you will get a spacious and comfortable cabin that will get features like auto climate control, auto-dimming IRVMS, push-button start, semi-digital instrument console, touchscreen infotainment system, rear-AC vents, etc. Other features like connected car tech will also be offered with the new YTB SUV. The Indian carmaker is yet to share more details about this new SUV and the official launch timeline in the country.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-Door

The Maruti Suzuki Jimny is currently one of the most anticipated Maruti cars in India and will be launched in the country somewhere next year. Maruti is also expected to showcase this new SUV at the upcoming Auto Expo 2022. Unlike the global iteration, the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Jimny SUV is expected to get a 5-door layout in India. The brand is specifically working on the Indian-spec Jimny 5-door iteration and will be offering it only with a petrol engine option. Needless to say, it will be offered with a 4WD as standard and will have a long list of capabilities and a lightweight body. The Indian-spec version however is expected to retain a similar boxy styling and will command a strong road presence. Moreover, it will have a longer wheelbase and will get a practical and a spacious five-seater cabin. From what we know so far, the new Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door SUV will be offered with a 1.5L K15C petrol engine with mild hybrid technology to boost the fuel economy and city performance. Once launched, it will take on the rivals like the Mahindra Thar and the Force Gurkha. The Maruti Suzuki Jimny price in India is expected to start from Rs 12-14 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base variant.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG

Maruti recently launched the new Maruti Suzuki Brezza in India to compete with rivals like the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite, and the Renault Kiger. The new Brezza not only boasts a new platform, but in addition to this, also gets updated styling, a new cabin, and improved powertrain choices for the brand. Maruti Suzuki Brezaa will soon be launched with a new CNG version that will share its powertrain options with the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga CNG. This 1.5L K series engine churns out 87 bhp and 121 Nm of maximum torque in the Ertiga and comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. Those opting for the petrol version will get a 1.5L K15C smart hybrid petrol engine with DualJet and Dual VVT technology. This engine delivers a peak power and torque output of 102 bhp and 137 Nm respectively. The buyers will have an option to opt for either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic torque converter gearbox. While the petrol version is priced from Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) in India, the new Brezza CNG is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 9-13 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG will be the first compact CNG car to make its Indian debut.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG

Maruti Suzuki in India currently has the most extensive CNG line-up and is currently working on expanding it even more with the launch of the new Baleno CNG. The new Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG is expected to be offered with the same 1.2L K12C engine that powers the new Swift CNG and the Dzire CNG. This engine churns out 77 bhp and 98.5 Nm of maximum torque while it comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox only. The performance form this motor is great and the fuel economy figures are expected to stand in the range of 28-30 km/kg. Inside, the Baleno CNG will get all the features and bells and whistles while the in-cabin experience too will be great. No changes are expected to be made to the exterior styling of the car. The new Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG price in India is expected to start from Rs 9-10 lakh (ex-showroom) and will be the only CNG premium hatchback on offer in the country. More details about the official launch timeline are yet to be shared by the Indian carmaker.
