Everything You Should Know About Upcoming Citroen Seven Seater SUV

Citroen is currently aggressively expanding its line-up in the country and recently launched the new C3 hatchback and the C5 Aircross facelift in the market

After launching the new Citroen C5 Aircross facelift in India, the brand is now all set to launch a new C3-based three-row crossover in the market to challenge the rivals like the Maruti Ertiga, Maruti Ertiga and the Kia Carens. This new upcoming model was recently spotted testing in Chandigarh and is expected to make its Indian debut somewhere next year. Just like the C3, this new three-row SUV will also be heavily localised to keep the costs in check. Having said this, here is everything that we know so far about the upcoming Citroen seven-seater SUV in India.

Upcoming Citroen Seven-Seater SUV

For starters, this new Citroen C3-based seven-seater will boast a similar styling language but will ride on bigger wheels and will have a longer wheelbase in addition to higher ground clearance. Moreover, it will also get rugged body cladding all around to give it a strong look. From what we know so far, this new SUV will have a slightly tweaked rear design while the front might also have some small changes to distinguish itself from the C3. Needless to say, this new SUV will measure more than 4 metres in length.

Inside, it is expected to get an all-black cabin with three rows of seating. It gets a three-spoke steering wheel along with a digital instrument console and a free-standing infotainment system. It also gets steering mounted controls, manual controls for the AC and many other features like push-button start and connected car tech.

Powertrain Options

The new C3-based three-row seven-seater SUV will be offered with the same 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine that comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. It might also be offered with an automatic gearbox at the time of the launch. For the buyers looking for a cheaper version of the SUV, the brand might also introduce a less powerful 1.2L NA petrol engine.

While the brand is yet to share more details about this new SUV, it is likely that it might call it the Citroen C3 Plus or the Citroen C3 Sport Tourer in India. Once launched, it will take on the other three-row rivals for under Rs 15 lakh. More details however are yet to be known.
