SUVs are currently enjoying strong demand in the market and a number of manufacturers are now all set to expand their SUV portfolio with the launch of multiple 7-seater SUVs. From what we know so far, brands like Toyota, Nissan, Mahindra, and Tata will soon be launching multiple new products and here are the top 7 upcoming 7-seater SUVs in 2023 that you should check out if you are also planning to soon buy a new SUV in the market.

Toyota Fortuner Next-Gen

The Toyota Fortuner is currently being appreciated for its powerful and reliable package and boasts a powerful and capable setup. The brand is soon expected to launch the new-gen model of the Fortuner soon. From what we know so far, the new Fortuner will be underpinned by new TNGA-F architecture and will be offered with new powertrain options. If reports are to be believed, the new Toyota Fortuner New-Gen will now be offered with a 1GD-FTV 2.8L mild hybrid diesel engine. In addition to this, the new Fortuner will also boast an all-new cabin with a fresh dashboard layout, a new infotainment system, a new digital instrument console, and more. Moreover, it will also get features like wireless charging, auto-dimming IRVMs, electrically operated seats, sunroof, electrically operated ORVMs, steering mounted controls, push-button start, cooled storage box, connected car tech, automatic climate control, and more. It is also likely to boast a long list of safety features including ADAS tech, multiple airbags, traction control, and more.

5-Door Force Gurkha

The Force Gurkha is currently one of the most capable SUVs in the Indian market and not only offers a practical and powerful package, but in addition to this, also gives tough competition to the rivals like the Mahindra Thar. The brand will soon be launching the five-door iteration of the Gurkha in the country which will share its underpinnings with the standard Gurkha. Needless to say, the new five-door Gurkha will be larger than the three-door version and will be powered by the same Mercedes-sourced 2.6L turbo diesel engine that churns out a peak power and torque output of 91 bhp and 250 Nm respectively. Furthermore, while the overall exterior styling language will remain similar, the new Gurkha will be offered in four seating layouts – 6, 7, 9, and 13-seats. The dashboard layout however will remain similar and the 6-seater version will be offered with captain chairs in the second and the third rows. Likewise, a similar features list will be offered with the Force Gurkha.

Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus

The new Bolero Neo is currently one of the most practical offerings in the market and boasts a robust and capable package. The brand is currently working on the Bolero Neo Plus in the market for buyers looking for a VFM 7-seater SUV. For starters, the new Bolero Neo will be offered with two seating configurations – 7 and 9-seat options. It is likely to share its powertrain options with the Thar. It is also expected that it will be offered with both manual as well as automatic gearbox options. It will be larger in terms of dimensions and will offer a practical and spacious cabin. The Indian carmaker is yet to comment on the official launch date of the SUV in the country.

Tata Safari Facelift

The Tata Safari is known for its premium and feature-rich package and gives strong competition to the rivals like the MG Hector Plus and the Mahindra XUV700 in the Indian market. The Indian carmaker will soon launch the new Tata Safari facelift in the country with updated exterior styling, refreshed cabin, and many new features that will make it a much better choice than before. In addition to this, the new Safari Facelift is expected to be offered with ADAS safety tech and is also likely to get many new features like a 360-degree camera air purifier, and ventilated front seats. It is however expected to be offered with the same 2.0L diesel engine that churns out a peak power output of 170 bhp and comes paired with a 6-speed manual or an automatic gearbox.

MG Hector Facelift

The MG Hector was the first MG car to be launched in the country and is now due for a major facelift. From what we know so far, the new MG Hector will be launched in late December or Early January next year and will boast an updated front fascia, strong styling tweaks, new features, and updated interiors. In addition to this, it will get ADAS safety tech with features like blind spot detection, lane keep assist, lane departure warning and forward collision warning and rear cross-traffic alert. The brand also confirmed that the new Hector facelift will be offered with a first-in-segment 14-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system with Next-Gen i-Smart technology and smartphone wireless connectivity. More details will soon be shared by the brand ahead of the launch. Once launched in the country, it will take on the rivals like the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, Hyundai Alcazar and other 7-seater SUVs in the segment.

Citroen C3 7-Seater SUV

The Citreon C3 7-Seater SUV is one of the most anticipated 7-seater SUVs in the country and will share its underpinnings and powertrain options with the Citreon C3 hatchback. The test mule of the C3 7-Seater SUV was recently spotted with 16-inch wheels and higher ground clearance. It is also expected to be significantly larger than the C3 hatchback. Furthermore, the new C3 7-seater was underpinned by Stellantis’ CMP (Common Modular Platform). It will be powered by a 1.0L turbo petrol engine while it is likely to be offered with 6 and 7-seats configurations.

Nissan X-Trail

The Nissan X-Trail was recently showcased in the country and is soon likely to make its Indian debut. The new X-Trail SUV is likely to be offered with 1.5L petrol mild hybrid and strong hybrid powertrain options. For those wondering, the mild hybrid powertrain boasts a peak power and torque output of 163 Ps and 300 Nm respectively while the strong-hybrid powertrain option delivers 204 PS and 300 Nm (2WD) and 213 PS and 525 Nm of maximum torque (4WD). The SUV will be offered in 5 and 7-seat configurations. Furthermore, the Nissan X-Trail will not only offer a feature-rich and premium cabin, but in addition to this, will also give tough competition to the rivals with its strong and massive road presence.
