The Toyota Innova Hycross will be the most affordable hybrid MPV in India and will boast a new platform, new engine, and a feature-rich cabin

The upcoming Toyota Innova Hycross was recently teased by the Japanese carmaker ahead of its launch next month. The new Innova Hycross will offer a new exterior style, a new cabin, an updated features list, new powertrain options and a new platform. While the new Innova Hycross MPV will make its debut next month, the present-gen Toyota Innova Crysta will continue to be on sale in the Indian market. Having said this, here are all the details that you need to check about the upcoming Toyota Innova Hycross.

New Toyota Innova Hycross

For starters, the new teaser images reveal the new front fascia of the car which is largely dominated by an upright hexagonal grille, two L-shaped inserts housing the main lights, new bumper, and triangular fog lamps. Unlike before, the new Innova boasts a crossover look that looks a lot more premium and sophisticated.

From what we know so far, the new Innova Hycross will be longer than the present-gen Innova and will boast a new design that will be complemented by horizontally oriented tail lamps with LED brake lights and new 10-spoke alloy wheels. For those wondering, it will be around 4.7 metres in length and will have a wheelbase of 2850 mm. Just like the existing model, it will also offer multiple seating options.

Moving on, the new Toyota Innova Hycross will be offered with a long list of features and equipment like a 360-degree camera, sunroof, wireless charging, and even an ‘ottoman function’ for the captain’s chairs in the second row in addition to a large infotainment system. Furthermore, it will also offer features like an automatic climate control, push-button start, semi-digital instrument console, powered front seats, cooled storage box, automatic lights, automatic wipers, and other premium features that will make it a great choice for a dependable companion for long-distance travel.

It is also worth noting the fact that the new Toyota Innova Hycross will be based on Toyota’s new modular TNGA-C platform that also underpins the current-gen Corolla sold in the global markets. This new platform offers a flat floor at the rear and will also offer better space for the second and row occupants. In addition to monocoque architecture, the new Innova Hycross will also have a front-wheel-drive layout. It is worth noting the fact the previous-gen models of the Innova features a ladder-on-frame construction with a rear-wheel-drive set-up.

Another major change comes in the form of the new hybrid powertrain that will replace the diesel motor. Uline the present-gen Toyota Innova, the new Toyota Innova Hycross will not be offered with a diesel motor and is likely to utilise a 2.0L petrol hybrid motor. This engine will not only offer strong performance but in addition to this, will also offer commendable fuel economy figures for the buyers.

If reports are to be believed, the new Toyota Innova Hycross is expected to make its debut in November while the price announcement will take place somewhere next year. The present-gen Toyota Innova Crysta currently is only offered with a petrol engine.

Furthermore, the reports also suggest that the new Toyota Hycross will also be rebadged for Maruti Suzuki and will be sold via the Nexa line of dealerships. Maruti’s version of the Hycross will offer a similar package and will get similar powertrain options for the buyers.
