The Hyundai i20-rivalling Toyota Glanza is currently one of the most reliable and refined premium hatchbacks in the country

Its been a while since Toyota launched the new Glanza in the Indian market and the Japanese carmaker is currently said to be working on the CNG version of this premium hatchback. The Toyota Glanza is the rebadged version of the Maruti Baleno but boasts a long list of changes including a new front fascia and an updated cabin. Here are all the details we should know about the upcoming Toyota Glanza CNG hatchback in India.

Toyota Glanza CNG In India

From what we know so far, the upcoming Toyota Glanza CNG will be powered by a 1.2L petrol engine that is also offered with the Maruti Swift and the Maruti Dzire. This four-cylinder engine delivers peak power and torque output of close to 76 hp and 98.5 Nm respectively in the CNG mode. This engine will be offered with a manual gearbox and will offer commendable fuel economy figures. The Toyota Glanza CNG is expected to be the first CNG premium hatchback in the country. The same engine, in the petrol mode, will deliver close to 88 hp of maximum power.

The design however remains similar and the Glanza CNG will measure 3990 mm in length, 1745 mm in width, and 1500 mm in height. The wheelbase will also remain similar and will measure 2520 mm. The gross weight of the hatchback however is claimed to be 1450 kgs. The new Glanza CNG is also expected to retain the project LED headlights, dual-tone alloy wheels, and more.

Inside, the cabin too will remain similar and the new Toyota Glanza CNG will continue to offer features like a 9.0-inch infotainment system with Smart Play Cast Pro S functionality, Arkamys Audio System, a 360-degree parking camera, auto mirrors folding and auto-dimming IRVMs. In addition to this, you will also get leather-wrapped steering, cruise control, UV protect glass, LED DRLs and LED fog lamps.

The brand is currently working on introducing the new Toyota Camry sedan with a flex fuel powertrain on 28th September 2022. Toyota is also all set to take on other midsize SUVs like the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos in India with its new Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The new Urban Cruiser Hyryder is the first strong hybrid SUV in the segment and is also offered with a 1.5L K15 smart-hybrid petrol engine. Needless to say, both these engines will be offered with manual as well as automatic gearbox options.

Toyota is also said to be working on launching the next-gen Toyota Innova HyCross in the country and the next-gen Toyota Fortuner SUV. Both these vehicles are likely to be offered with different hybrid powertrain options and will boast an extremely premium and feature-rich cabin.
