Top 6 Upcoming Cars With ADAS In 2023

As many as six new cars will be launched in the country this year including the next-gen Verna, Tata Harrier facelift, Safari facelift, Hyundai Creta facelift, and more

Many new cars are expected to make their Indian debut in 2023 and will not only offer a strong package for the buyers, but in addition to this, will also get major updates including the new BS6 II-compliant powertrain options. In addition to this, these upcoming new cars in India will also boast better safety and here is a list of the top upcoming cars with ADAS in 2023 that you should check out if you are also planning to soon buy a car.

Tata Harrier Facelift/ Tata Safari Facelift

The Tata Harrier and the Tata Safari are currently one of the most talked about SUVs in the country and will soon be launched in the country. While the Harrier takes on the rivals like the MG Hector, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Jeep Compass and other premium mid-size SUVs in the market, the Tata Safari on the other hand gives strong competition to the rivals like the MG Hector Plus, Mahindra Scorpio N, Mahindra XUV700, Hyundai Alcazar, and more. Having said this, the new facelift models are expected to be offered with an updated exterior design language, new features including a 360-degree camera, a larger and improved infotainment system, and ADAS safety tech. The new ADAS tech will offer features like forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane assist and others. Having said this, the brand is likley to continue with similar powertrain options for the buyers of the new Harrier facelift and the Safari facelift. Rumours also suggest that Tata is working on a new turbocharged petrol engine for both the SUVs, details of which are yet to be known.

Hyundai Creta Facelift

Hyundai recently unveiled the new Creta facelift in the global markets and will soon be introducing it in India next month. From what we know so far, the new Creta will not only share a similar exterior design language as the more expensive Hyundai Tucson which earlier made its Indian debut but will also boast new features and better safety tech. Just like the Tucson, the new Hyundai Creta is expected to get the same ADAS tech which comes with 16 features. Some of these include the forward collision warning (FCW), forward collision-avoidance assist for car, pedestrian, cycle and junction turning, lane keeping assist (LKA), lane departure warning, blind-spot collision – avoidance assist (BCA), safe exit warning (SEW), leading vehicle departure alert (LVDA), high-beam assist (HBA), smart cruise control with Stop & GO, lane following assist (LFA), rear-cross traffic collision warning, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist and blind-spot view monitor. In addition to this, the brand is also likely to introduce many new features with the Creta facelift. Reports also suggest that the new Creta facelift will continue to be offered with the same powertrain options – 1.5L NA petrol, 1.4L turbo petrol, and 1.5L diesel engine. Likewise, it will be offered with both manual as well as automatic gearbox options. Having said this, once launched in the country, the new Hyundai Creta facelift will lock its horns with the Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and a few variants of the Tata Harrier, MG Hector and the Mahindra XUV700. More details are yet to be shared by the brand.

New Kia Seltos

The Kia Seltos was the first Kia car to be launched in the country and continues to dominate the segment with its aggressive looks, a feature-rich cabin, powerful engine options, and practical package. The brand is likely to soon launch the new Kia Seltos facelift in the country to take on the rivals like the Hyundai Creta, W Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and a few variants of the Tata Harrier, MG Hector and the Mahindra XUV700. Having said this, the new facelift model will boast an updated exterior design, updated cabin, new features and better safety tech including ADAS safety suite. The ADAS suite consists of features like collision warning (FCW), forward collision-avoidance assist for car, pedestrian, cycle and junction turning, lane keeping assist (LKA), lane departure warning, blind-spot collision – avoidance assist (BCA), safe exit warning (SEW), leading vehicle departure alert (LVDA), high-beam assist (HBA), smart cruise control with Stop & GO, lane following assist (LFA), rear-cross traffic collision warning, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist and blind-spot view monitor. Just like the Creta, the new Kia Seltos facelift will also continue to be offered with the same engine options and will be priced from Rs 10-12 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

MG Hector Facelift

MG made its Indian debut with the launch of the Hector SUV in the country and offered it as a feature-rich and VFM SUV in the segment. The brand confirmed the launch of the new Hector facelift a few weeks ago and is soon likely to launch it in India in the next few months. The MG Hector Facelift will get an updated front fascia that will be largely dominated by a new and large front grille, new headlights, updated bumpers and new alloy wheels in addition to many new features including the segment largest touchscreen system. In addition to this, the new MG Hector is likely to be offered with the same petrol and diesel engine options for the buyers. In addition to this, it will also get the ADAS safety suite that will comprise of features like automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control and others.

Maruti’s Toyota Hycross-Based MPV

If reports are to be believed, Maruti is now working on its own version of the Toyota Innova Hycross MPV for the Indian market and will be launching it somewhere in the second half of 2023. This new MPV will not only be based on the same platform as the Innova Hycross, but will also share its powertrain options and gearbox combination. The brand is also expected to offer a similar cabin with a similar features list for the buyers in the country. Needless to say, both the MPVs will be differentiated by a different exterior styling, different interior colour combinations, and variant break-up. For those wondering, the new Innova Hycross is offered with features like automatic climate control, a large sunroof, power-operated front seats, steering mounted setup, a touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument console, cooled storage console, a push-button start, and more. The Innova Hycross also gets Toyota Safety Sense suite of ADAS (advanced driver assistance system). The 3-row MPV will offer features like adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitor, lane keep assist, rear cross traffic alert and pre-collision system. Other safety features include 6 airbags, traction control, an electronic stability program and ABS with EBD. We are expecting Maruti to offer a similar version with its own version of the MPV.

New-Gen Hyundai Verna

The Hyundai Verna is one of the best-selling sedans in the country and is one of the strongest rivals to the cars like the Maruti Ciaz, Honda City, VW Virtus, and Skoda Slavia in the country. The Korean carmaker is currently working on launching the new Hyundai Verna in the market for buyers looking for a feature-rich, powerful, and good-looking sedan in the segment. From what we know so far, the new Verna is likely to be offered only with two engine options – 1.5L NA petrol and 1.4L turbo petrol. In addition to this, it will also grow in size and will offer a strong exterior design language that might remind you of the global iterations of the Elantra. In addition to this, it will also boast an all-new cabin that will not only offer more space inside but will also get many new features which were earlier missing from the package. Just like the Hyundai Creta facelift, the new Verna is also expected to get ADAS safety suite with features like FCW, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, high beam assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking and others. More details however are yet to be shared by the brand and will only be known ahead of the launch in the country.
