Top 5 Upcoming Cars In India This Festive Season - Details

A number of new cars will soon be launched in the Indian market in the next few months

The car buyers are now again showing strong interest in the new cars and a number of car manufacturers in the country are gearing up to launch their new offerings for the Indian market. With total sales set to see a major spike this festive season, we will see almost ten new car launches in India. Upcoming Cars In India

MG Hector Facelift

The MG Hector is currently one of the strongest rivals to the cars like the Mahindra XUV700 and the Tata Harrier in the Indian market. MG is currently offering the MG Hector with three powertrain options and is likely to continue with similar engine options with the new facelift model. The new MG hector facelift model however will get an updated front fascia that will be dominated by a large front grille and other subtle changes like a new headlamp layout. Other changes are likely to be in the form of new alloy wheels and subtle changes at the rear. Inside, the new MG Hector facelift is likely to get some subtle changes in addition to a new and large touchscreen infotainment system with wireless mobile connectivity features. In addition to this, the new MG Hector is also expected to offer a more advanced safety package for the buyers including LEVEL 2 ADAS. Level 2 ADAS offers features like forward collision warning, blind spot assist, lane keep assists, rear cross-traffic alert and more. MG is however yet to share the official launch timeline of the new MG Hector facelift in India.

BYD ATTO 3

BYD is now all set to launch its second car in India after introducing the BYD e6 for private buyers in India. Having said this, the new BYD ATTO 3 will be a five-seater electric SUV and will measure close to 4.5 metres in length. Once launched in India, it will take on the rivals like the MG ZS EV and the Hyundai Kona EV in the country. For those wondering, the official dimensions stand at 4455 mm in length, 1875 mm in width, and 161 mm in height while the wheelbase is said to be 2720 mm. The new AtTTO 3 weighs close to 1750 kg and has a rated boot capacity of 440 litres while the ground clearance is said to be 175 mm. It comes powered by a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor that churns out a peak power and torque output of 201 hp and 310 Nm of maximum torque. This electric SUV is capable of doing a 0-100 kmph sprint in a little over 7 seconds.

Two battery pack options are likely to be offered with the ATTO 3 in India – 49.92 kWh and 60.48 kWh. While the smaller 49.92 kWh battery pack will offer a range of 345 km on a single charge, the larger battery pack offers a claimed range of 420 km on a single charge. Furthermore, it is compatible with DC fast charging up to 80 kW. On the features front, the new BYD ATTO 3 will be offered with all-LED lights, panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, heated wing mirrors, electrically adjustable front seats, wireless phone chargers, leatherette upholstery, automatic climate control, a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen and a 5-inch digital instrument cluster. On the safety front, it will offer features like a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control and advanced active safety features like automatic emergency braking, front and rear collision warning, blind spot monitoring and lane keep assist. The brand is expected to launch the new ATTO 3 on October 11 while the deliveries will only begin in early 2023. More details are yet to be shared by BYD.

New-Gen Toyota Urban Cruiser

While Maruti launched the new Brezza in India a few weeks ago, Toyota is yet to introduce the next-gen iteration of the Toyota Urban Cruiser. The brand is currently occupied with the launch of the new Urban Cruiser Hyryder to take on the rivals like the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos. Having said this, it is also likely to launch the new-gen Toyota Urban Cruiser soon. The new Urban Cruiser will boast a new exterior styling, updated petrol K15C engine, new features, a large sunroof and many other changes that make it a strong rival to the cars like the Hyundai Venue, Kai Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and the Maruti Suzuki Brezza. Just like before, the new Toyota Urban Cruiser will only be offered with a petrol engine and will miss out on a diesel motor. The brand however is likely to offer it with a new 6-speed automatic torque converter gearbox. Toyota is yet to comment on the official launch date of the new Urban Cruiser in India.

Toyota Glanza CNG

The new Toyota Glanza is currently being offered as a good-looking and feature-rich offering in the market. The Glanza shares its underpinnings with the Baleno and also has similar powertrain options as well. The Japanese carmaker is currently planning to launch the CNG version of the hatchback soon in the country. The Toyota Glanza CNG will be offered with the same 1.2L engine that churns out  77 hp and a peak torque output of close to 100 Nm in the CNG mode. This engine is likely to come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Those opting for the petrol versions will be able to opt for either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. On the features front, the new Toyota Glanza will be offered with features like a touchscreen infotainment system, Android auto, semi-digital instrument console, automatic climate control, steering mounted controls, connected car tech, push-button start, and more. The brand is yet to share the official launch timeline of the new Glanza CNG in the country but we are expecting them to launch it in the next couple of months. Once launched in India, the Glanza will be the first CNG premium hatchback in the country.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno

The Maruti Baleno is one of the best-selling premium hatchbacks in the country and boasts a strong package for buyers looking for a spacious, feature-rich, reliable, and VFM hatchback in the country. Unlike many of its rivals, the Baleno misses out on a diesel powertrain option but is soon expected to get a CNG powertrain. The new Baleno will share its CNG engine with the newly introduced Swift CNG in the country. For those wondering, this 1.2L Bi-Fuel engine churns out 76 bhp and 98.5 Nm of maximum torque in the Swift. Needless to say, the overall package will remain similar to the standard iteration and the Baleno will continue to be offered with a large SmartPlay infotainment system, 360-degree camera, and many other features that will attract customers in the country. More details however are yet to be known.
