Hyundai unveiled the new Tucson in India recently ahead of the launch on August 2, 2022. Currently in its fourth generation, the Tucson promises to be a great package for those looking for a premium SUV that not only boasts a spacious and comfortable cabin but in addition to this, also offers powerful engine options and a stellar design. While the Korean carmaker is yet to announce the price of the Tucson in India, here are the top 5 things that you should know about the new 2022 Hyundai Tucson.

Design And Dimensions

This new fourth-gen iteration of the Tucson features the brand’s latest ‘Sensual Sportiness‘ that boasts sharply cut surfaces and bold detailing. The front fascia is largely dominated by a large grille in the centre with dark chrome jewel-like detailing and integrated LED Daytime Running Lamps. The headlights however are placed in the front bumper that also features pronounced contours and angular cuts. Just like the front profile, the side profile too features sharp character lines complemented by angular and flared wheel arches. The Tucson in India gets 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Furthermore, you will fail not to notice the satin chrome strip running across the length of the side profile. At the rear, the Tucson gets dual T-shaped LED tail-lights connected via an LED light bar, a diamond-pattern finish on the rear bumper and a faux skid plate that gives it an attractive stance. The rear spoiler further improves the looks of the Tucson and in all, the overall design does look great and gives the Tucson a strong road presence.

2022 Hyundai Tucson Interiors And Features

The new Tucson features a completely new dashboard layout, a new steering wheel, and an updated seating configuration that gives it a fresh and premium touch. On the features front, the car gets a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, new HVAC controls, a 10.25-inch driver’s display with personalized themes and turn-by-turn navigation, front seat ventilation, dual-zone climate control, wireless smartphone charging, a panoramic sunroof, air purifier, heated and ventilated front seats, 64-colour ambient lighting, 360-degree cameras, electric adjustment for driver’s seat with memory function, rain-sensing wipers, reclining rear seats, BlueLink connected car features with over-the-air updates, voice commands, Alexa and Google Assistant, an 8-speaker Bose Sound System and a powered tailgate.

2022 Hyundai Tucson

Powertrain

The Tucson is being offered with two engine options – 2.0L petrol and 2.0L diesel engine. The 2.0L four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine churns out 156 hp and 192 Nm of maximum torque output. This engine is available only with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The 2.0L diesel on the other hand produces 186 hp and 416 Nm of maximum torque. This engine however comes mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. No manual gearbox is on offer with either of the two engines. Needless to say, the performance and refinement levels from both these motors are impressive and both the gearboxes too are smooth and fast with the shifts.

ADAS Level 2

The Hyundai Tucson will be the first Hyundai car in India to come with ADAS technology and the Level 2 ADAS suite features function like forward collision warning, blind spot assist, lane keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and more. In addition to this, features like six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, ESC, hill-descent control, and all-wheel disc brakes are also offered with the 2022 Hyundai Tucson.

New Hyundai Tucson Launch In India

The Korean carmaker will be launching the new 2022 Tucson in India on August 4, 2022. Once launched, the new Tucson will take on the rivals like the Jeep Compass and the Citroen C5 Aircross and the higher-spec iterations of the Tata Harrier, MG Hector, and the Mahindra XUV700.
