The Tata Safari is currently being appreciated for its premium and feature-rich package that it has to offer for buyers. In addition to this, the Safari also offers impressive dynamics, a powerful engine, a long list of features, and stellar looks. The Tata Safari takes on the rivals like the Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector Plus and more. Unlike most of the rivals, the new Tata Safari is only offered with a diesel engine and misses out on a petrol engine. This 2.0L diesel motor comes matted to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Having said this, there are strong reports that the Indian carmaker is currently working on a new turbocharged petrol engine that will soon be offered with the Safari and the Harrier. Tata is also expected to launch the new Safari facelift model in India and here are the top 5 things that you should know about this new iteration of the Safari.
Upcoming Tata Safari Facelift
Revised Exterior Styling
The new Tata Safari facelift is expected to be offered with a new exterior design including a revised front fascia, a new alloy wheel design, and subtle updates to the rear profile. For starters, the new Safari facelift is expected to feature new bumpers, an updated front grille, a slightly tweaked headlight design, and new DRLs. Moreover, the new Tata Safari will also get updated exterior trim elements while the brand might also introduce new exterior colour shades with the new facelift model. In all, the changes that will be offered with the new Safari will help it boast a stronger road presence and a fresh look that will help it attract a lot of buyers. Needless to say, the build quality and the fit-finish levels will be as good as the present iteration of the car.

New Features
The new Tata Safari facelift model will also get many new features including features like a 360-degree camera, wing-mounted cameras, blind-spot monitoring system, connected car tech, a new and improved infotainment system, updated instrument console, and ADAS. The ADAS suite will include many advanced safety features like a blind spot monitoring system, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and more. The Indian carmaker however is yet to share more details about the new features that will be offered with the new Tata Safari facelift iteration.

Updated Cabin
In addition to the new features, the new Tata Safari facelift is also expected to feature an updated cabin. The new cabin, in addition to a new dashboard layout, will also offer an updated upholstery layout, new colour schemes, many new features, and a large sunroof. The new dashboard layout will not only look better but in addition to this, will also offer better ergonomics and practicality. The new upholstery design too is expected to be in line with the premium character of the SUV while the setas will offer impressive comfort levels, thus making the Safari’s cabin a great place to be in. Features like wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, ventilated front seats, wireless charging pad, auto-dimming IRVMs, push-button start, automatic climate control, and digital instrument console are expected to be a part of the package for the buyers.

New Turbocharged Petrol Engine
As mentioned above, Tata is currently working on a new turbocharged petrol engine that will soon be offered with the Tata Harrier and the Tata Safari facelift models. This new four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine will offer strong performance and impressive refinement levels. From what we know so far, this new engine will be offered with manual as well as automatic gearbox options. In addition to this new petrol engine, the new Tata Safari facelift will also be offered with the 2.0L turbocharged diesel engine. This engine is also being offered with the current iteration of the Safari and churns out maximum power and torque output of 170 PS and 350 Nm respectively. This engine is available with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Launch Date And Price
While Tata is yet to share the official launch details and the launch timeline of the new Safari facelift in India but we are currently expecting the Indian carmaker to introduce this new model in late 2022 or early 2023. The Tata Harrier facelift model might also make its debut along with the new Safari facelift model. Having said this, the new facelift model of the new Tata Safari is expected to be around Rs 1 lakh more expensive when compared to the present iteration. For your reference, the Tata Safari is priced from Rs 15.34 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base XE model.
