The new upcoming 2022 Royal Enfield Hunter 350 will be the most affordable RE bike in India and will sit below the Bullet 350 in the market
It’s no secret to anyone that Royal Enfield is currently working on a new affordable 350cc bike for the Indian market and a recent online report revealed some valuable information related to this bike. To be called the Hunter 350, this new Royal Enfield bike in India will sit below the Bullet 350 and will take on bikes in the Rs 1.30-1.50 lakh segment in the country. Having said this, here are the top five things that you should know about the upcoming 2022 Royal Enfield Hunter 350 in India.
The new Hunder 350 will feature a retro roadster design that might remind you of the bikes like the Triumph Street Twin. The brand has internally codenamed this bike as J1C1. The J1C1 is expected to boast an extremely sporty and energetic design which will be largely dominated by a long, single-piece seat and a teardrop-shaped fuel tank. To further compliment the retro design, the bike features round headlamps at the front, round halogen taillights, a retro rear view mirror, and more. In addition to this, the bike will sport a low seat height and a compact footprint, thus making it a great bike for the everyday city commute. The kerb weight too is expected to be significantly lower than the other Royal Enfield bikes like the Classic 350 and the Meteor 350.
Underpinnings and Suspension
As far as reports are to be believed, this new Royal Enfield bike will share its underpinnings with the more expensive Meteor and the Classic 350. Both these bikes are underpinned by the brand’s latest J-Platform which boasts improved dynamics and high-speed stability. The suspension setup too is expected to be similar but more details can only be confirmed once the brand officially reveals the bike in India.
Performance, Engine and Gearbox
The new Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is expected to be powered by the same 349cc single-cylinder engine as the Meteor and Classic 350. This engine churns out a maximum peak and torque output of 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm respectively. The performance and NVH levels from this motor are impressive and the Hunter 350 is also expected to offer a similar experience to the buyers.
Royal Enfield is expected to offer two variants of this new 350cc bike in India. The second variant has been codenamed J1C2 and more details are yet to be known about this iteration of the Royal Enfield’s new 350cc bike. The reports however suggest that the J1C2 will be a bare minimum model and will miss out on most of the features. In addition to this, we might also see limited colour options and fewer accessories for the buyers.
