Soon after introducing the Super Meteor 650, Royal Enfield is back in the headlines again. This time around, a new leaked image is getting the brand limelight. Well, the leaked image seems to be coming from a presentation, but it has some important information to keep the Royal Enfield patrons happy. The picture reveals that the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan, which the company has been extensively testing for a long time, will be the base for four other motorcycles. The platform and engine of the Himalayan 450 will be used to spawn four more motorcycles as well.
In the picture, the Royal Himalayan 450, along with a standard motorcycle, much like the Hunter 350, are mentioned as lead products. Although the image has silhouettes of motorcycles, it is easy to figure out what Royal Enfield is planning for the future. The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will also be sold in a more hardcore offroad-centric version with a dirt bike-like tail. In all likelihood, it could be retailed as a track-only motorcycle.
Moving over to others in the list, the standard motorcycle could be christened Hunter 450. Besides, it will also spawn a scrambler and a cafe racer. The former will feature offroad elements in the design, like a high-set mudguard, increased suspension travel, and more importantly, an upright riding stance. The latter, on the other hand, will come with a fairing, along with clip-on handlebars, to offer a sporty riding position to the rider.
It is tough to comment on the launch timelines of these four new motorcycles that will be developed on the Himalayan 450’s baselines. However, the adventure tourer is expected to be introduced by early next year. While it will look quite like the outgoing Himalayan, it will sport a high-set exhaust on the left-hand side. Moreover, the new Himalayan 450 will be brawnier, aesthetically, as opposed to the outgoing model.
Also, it should be noted that Royal Enfield is planning to build multiple models around the 450 platform. These new motorcycles will bridge the gap between the more-affordable 350 cc range and the flagship 650 cc motorcycles of the brand.
