PMV EaS-E Electric Vehicle Launched - Details

While the pre-orders for the new EaS-E have begun for Rs 2,000, the deliveries will only start in mid-2023

The bew PMV EaS-E EV was recently launched in the country at a starting price of Rs 4.79 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and will be one of the most affordable electric cars on sale in the Indian market soon. The brand however did share that this introductory price will be only valid for the first 10,000 customers. In addition to this, the Mumbai-based start-up gathhered more than 6000 bookings for this new electric vehilce and the interested buyers can book this quadricycle for Rs 2000. This new EV will be manufactured at the plant’s Pune-based manufacturing facility and will boast a top speed of 70 kmph. Design

The new PMV EaS-E EV gets a plain and subtle design domianted by a large front grille, LED DRLs, round LED headlights, a rather busy front bumper, and attractive colour options. Compact footprint and great vissbility further helps it make a great city commute. For those wondering, it will be offered with four doors and has a single windscreen wiper. At the rear, things remain similar and the PMV EaS-E electric vehicle does boast a strong road presence.

Powertrain

While the band is yet to share the battery specifications, it was shared that it will be offered with a 48V lithium-iron-phosphate battery that can be charged using a onboard 15A socket in less tha four hours. It will be offered in three cliamed range options – 120 km, 160 km, and 200 km. Furthermore, the brand also shared that the new EaS-E will be powered by a IP67 rated permanent magnet synchronous motor that churns out a peak power and torque output of 13 hp and 50 Nm. This motor will help the mini electric car boast a cliamed 0-40 kmph sprint time of less than 5 secs. The top speed is cliamed to be 70 kmph. The brand says that the EaS-E will offer a running cost of around 75 paise per km.

Dimensions

The new PMV EaS-E is narrower than most other quadricylces available in India. For thoe wondering, it is 2,915mm long and 1,600mm tall, while the Bajaj is 2,752mm long and 1,652mm tall. The Eas-E has a wheelbase of 2,080mm and has a ground clearance of 170mm. For a quick comparison, the Tata Nano measured measured 3,099mm long, 1,495mm wide and 1,652mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,230mm and a ground clearance of 180mm.

Interiors And Features

Falling in line with its quadricycle layout, the new PMV EaS-E EV will be offered with a steering wheel mounted in the centre of the dashborad with the handbrake placed on the left of the manually-adjustable driver’s seat. Most of the switchgear on the dashabord and the steering wheel might remind you of many of those seen in Honda cars while this new EV also features an LCD digital instrument cluster in the centre. The infotaitainment setup offers a practical experienec and is offered with onboard navigation and smartphone connectivity. On the features front, it will be offered with multiple driving modes, regenerative braking, single-pedal driving, remote parking assist, cruise control, and follow-me-home lights, along with remote connectivity and diagnostics. In addition to this, it will also be offered with 4G connectivity and will get over-the-air (OTA) updates.

Rivals

Being a quadricycle, the new PMV EaS-E currently has no direct rivals in the country but does challenge the ICE powered Bajaj Qute in the Indian market. More Details however are yet to be shared by the brand.
