Bengaluru-based electric vehicle start-up, Ola Electric, has recently introduced the Ola S1 Air electric scooter in the Indian market. The all-new Ola S1 Air has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 84,999, ex-showroom (including FAME II subsidy). It is the company’s most affordable offering in the line-up and costs significantly less than the Ola S1 and S1 Pro. Here are the top 5 things you need to know about the Ola S1 Air electric scooter. Ola S1 Air: Design and colour variants
The new Ola S1 Air draws a resemblance to other S1 series and it looks almost the same as the S1 and the S1 Pro. However, there are subtle distinguishing factors as well, especially in terms of hardware. Talking about colour options, the new Ola S1 Air has been made available in a total of five different colour shades. They are Jet Black, Neo Mint, Porcelain White, Liquid Silver, and Coral Glam.

Ola S1 Air: Cycle parts and features
Ola’s latest electric scooter, the S1 Air, gets telescopic forks at the front for suspension duties and a mono-shock absorber at the rear. However, the other S1 series models get a uni-shock absorber both at the front as well as at the rear. Moreover, the braking duties on the S1 and the S1 Pro are performed by disc brakes at either end while the new S1 Air gets drum brake units.

The Ola S1 Air also gets a basic grab rail. Talking about features, the new S1 Air gets a large 7.0-inch TFT console as an instrument cluster, just like the S1 and S1 Pro. It comes with Ola’s MoveOS 3 software and will support all the hi-tech features that are offered by its siblings. For instance, it gets hill-hold control, proximity unlock feature, riding moods, and many more.

Ola S1 Air: Battery and riding range
The new Ola S1 Air gets a 2.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack which is smaller than its siblings that have batteries of up to 4 kWh, but considering its price, it seems fair enough. The S1 Air is certified to offer a riding range of up to 101 km per charge in ideal conditions as per the testing agencies.

Ola S1 Air: Performance and charging
The battery pack of the Ola S1 Air is paired with an electric motor that has a peak power output of 4.5 kW and its torque figure hasn’t been revealed yet. The new Ola S1 Air has a claimed top speed of 85 kmph and it can be charged from 0 to 100 per cent in 4.5 hours using a regular charger. It also gets three riding modes. They are Eco, Normal, and Sport.

Ola S1 Air: Price in India and rivals
The brand new Ola S1 Air electric scooter was launched in India at an introductory starting price of Rs 79,999, ex-showroom. However, the introductory offer was only valid till October 25 and as of now, it can be purchased for Rs 84,999, ex-showroom. While it doesn’t have any significant direct rivals in India, the Ola S1 Air will take on the likes of the Okinawa Praise Pro, Hero Electric’s Photon, etc.
