The new Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV will be launched in September 2022

Electric vehicles are now getting popular in the market and we saw a number of brands expanding their electric portfolios in the country. Mahindra too is all set to launch the new XUV400 electric SUV to take on the rivals like the Tata Nexon EV and the MG ZS EV. Here are all the details you should know about the new upcoming 2022 Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV.

2022 Mahindra XUV400 Electric SUV

Design

The new XUV400 electric SUV will be based on the XUV300 and will share its basic styling with it. For starters, the front bumper features sharp cuts and gets a strong hood that gives it a strong front fascia. The side profile too is similar but looks more proportionate when compared to the XUV300, all thanks to a longer length. The rear design also looks similar to the XUV300. The new electric version however also gets a closed-off front grille, a new taillights design, and a reprofiled tailgate.

Powertrain

While Mahindra is yet to share more details about the official specifications and powertrain output figures, we are expecting the new XUV400 to boast maximum power output of around 150 bhp. The range of the vehicle is expected to be in the range of 350-400 kms in real-life usage conditions. The brand however is said to utilise high-energy-density NMC cells from LG Chem which will help it to offer better capabilities when compared to the rivals like the Nexon EV and the MG ZS EV.

2022 Mahindra XUV400 Price

The new Mahindra XUV400 price is expected to start from Rs 16-18 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base variant and we are expecting Mahindra to offer at least a couple of trim options for the buyers to choose from. For a quick comparison, the Tata Nexon EV Prime price in India starts from Rs 14.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) while the Tata Nexon EV Max price starts from Rs 18.34 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Features

The new Mahindra XUV400 is expected to be offered with a long list of features including a digital instrument console, automatic climate control, wireless charging pad, a large sunroof, steering mounted control, push-button start, rear-defogger, connected car tech, and more. In addition to this, the new XUV400 is also expected to get features like rear AC vents, a cooled glovebox, a large touchscreen infotainment system, auto-dimming IRVM, etc.
