The Hyundai Aura is one of the most practical and feature-rich compact sedans in the country and gives stiff competition to the rivals like the Hona Amaze. The brand recently launched the new Hyundai Aura facelift at a starting price of Rs 6.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) while the bookings too are open in the country for a token amount of Rs 11,000. Here are the top 5 things you should know about the recently launched Hyundai Aura facelift in the Indian market.

Exterior and Interiors

To start with, the new Hyundai Aura facelift gets a number of updates including a new front fascia that is dominated by a new front grille, and inverted L-shaped LED DRLs. Having said this, no changes have been made to the side profile or the rear design and the Hyundai Aura continues to be offered with the same 15-inch alloy wheels. The compact sedan will now also get a boot-lid spoiler as a standard part of the package except for the base trim.

It also gets a new exterior colour option – Starry Night – which now replaces the Vintage Brown option from the outgoing version. Step inside, and you will notice that the dashboard layout remains the same as before. The new Aura facelift however gets a new seat upholstery design, new lighting for the footwell area and a revised instrument cluster.

Engine, Gearbox, and Performance

Just like before, the new Hyundai Aura facelift continues to be offered with the same 1.2L NA petrol engine. This engine churns out a peak power output of 82 hp while the maximum torque output stands at 114 Nm. This engine comes mated to a five-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. In addition to this, the new Hyundai Aura facelift is also offered with a 1.2L Bi-Fuel CNg powertrain that churns out a peak power and torque output of 69 hp and 95 Nm respectively. This engine however is only offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Needless to say, all these engines are RDE compliant and E20 fuel ready. Unlike before, the new Aura will not be offered with the 1.0L turbo petrol engine. This engine delivers a peak power and torque output of 100 hp and 172 Nm respectively.

For a quick comparison, the Tata Tigor is priced from Rs 6.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) while the Honda Amaze on the other hand is priced from Rs Rs 6.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Maruti Suzuki Dzire however is priced from Rs 6.24 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
