The new Honda City facelift will soon be launched in the Indian market and is expected to be offered with cosmetic updates, new features, and updated powertrain options
Sedans are now slowly regaining some popularity in the Indian market and sedans like the Honda City and the Hyundai Verna are two of the most popular sedans in the country. The Honda City and the Hyundai Verna take on the rivals like the VW Virtus, Skoda Slavia, and the Maruti Ciaz in the market. Having said this, the all-new Hyundai Verna and the Honda City facelift will soon be launched in the Indian market and here are all the details you should know about.
New-Gen 2023 Hyundai Verna
For starters, the new 2023 Hyundai Verna is likely to soon make its Indian debut and will boast a new ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ exterior styling that will be inspired by the new-gen Tucson. This design is largely dominated by a new parametric-jewel pattern grille with turn-signal integration, split LED headlamps, and revised front bumpers.

The side profile will be dominated by new alloy wheels, a tapered roof, and strong shoulder lines. The new Verna is also likely to offer a larger footprint. The rear profile is dominated by a high-tech ‘H-Tail Lamp’ and wing-type lower bumper. In all, it will continue to be offered with a smart exterior look, a strong build quality, and a strong road presence.
Inside, the new Hyundai Verna is likely to boast a more spacious and comfortable cabin in addition to a refreshed dashboard layout and new features that will help it give strong competition in the market. From what we know so far, the new Verna will be offered either with a dual-tone interior colour scheme or an all-black cabin depending on the variant you opt for.

On the features front, the car will be offered with automatic climate control, a wireless charger, a digital instrument console, a sunroof, front seat ventilation, push-button start, connected car tech, a cooled storage console, LED lights, and auto-dimming IRVM. The new Verna is also likely to be offered with Level 2 ADAS safety tech that will get features like lane keep assist, lane departure warning, lane follow assist, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, blind spot view monitor and forward collision assist.
From what we know so far, the new Hyundai Verna will be offered with three powertrain options – a 1.5L NA petrol engine, a 1.4L turbo petrol engine, and a 1.5L diesel engine. The naturally aspirated petrol engine is also likely to be offered with a smart-hybrid powertrain. All the engines will be offered with manual as well as automatic gearbox options.

The new Verna will be launched in the country somewhere next year and is likely to be priced from Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant. More details will soon be shared by the brand.
Honda City Facelift
The Honda City is also likely to soon get a major facelift in the country and was recently spied testing in India. The new Honda City facelift will be offered with an updated exterior design, new features, and updated powertrain options. Speaking of the design first, the new City facelift will boast a new front bumper, update front grille, new LED lights, and more.

Inside, it is likely to offer a premium and comfortable cabin that will be largely dominated by new features including a 360-degree camera. Furthermore, it will also get features like a semi-digital instrument console, wireless charger, sunroof, automatic climate control, steering mounted controls, push-button start, cooled storage console, and more.
When compared to the present iteration, the new Honda City facelift will only be offered with two powertrain options – 1.5L NA petrol and 1.5L Atkinson cycle strong hybrid. The diesel engine is not likely to be offered with the Honda City sedan in India.

Multiple reports suggest that the new Honda City facelift is also expected to be offered with an ADAS suite along with a bunch of new features. The ADAS safety tech will have features like autonomous emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, and more.
It will soon be launched in the country and is likely to be around Rs 1 lakh more expensive than the present iteration. Once launched, it will take on the rivals like the VW Virtus, Skoda Slavia, Hyundai Verna, and Maruti Ciaz in India.
