The new Citroen C3-based MPV is soon likely to make its Indian debut and will be offered with a turbo petrol engine in the country
Citroen is working on expanding its Indian portfolio and recently launched a couple of new cars including the new C3 hatchback in the market to take on the rivals like the Tata Punch. The C3 is currently the brand’s most affordable offering in India and is offered with two engine options. Having said this, the brand is currently working on launching a new 7-seater MPV in the country which will be underpinned by the same platform as the new C3. While this new Citroen 7-seater MPV will go on sale in mid-2023, it is expected to make its debut in early 2023 and here are all the details you need to know about the new Citroen C3.
Citroen 7-Seater MPV Launch In India Soon
For starters, the new Citroen 7-Seater MPV will share a similar exterior styling as the C3 and will be offered with a similar front fascia which is likely to feature a redesigned front grille and a new bumper. In addition to this, it is also likely to get a new fog lamp assembly at the front. The side profile is likely to be dominated by new alloy wheels and body cladding while the rear changes at the rear are likely to be few. We might also see this new MPV being offered with a rear defogger.

The new C3-based 7-seat MPV is likely to be bigger than the existing version of the car and might feature a longer wheelbase. As mentioned earlier, it will be based on the modular CMP architecture and will be taller than the C3. In addition to this, it is also expected to get a longer ear overhang and a bigger glass area. More details however are yet to be known.

Inside, this new Citroen 7-Seater SUV is expected to get a similar dashboard layout as the C3 and will continue to be offered with a touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, power-operated side mirrors, and more. If reports are to be believed, it is likely to be offered in two seating layouts – 6 and 7 seats. The 6-seat version will be offered with captain seats in the seconds.

Likewise, it is expected to be offered with the same powertrain options in the country – 1.2L 3-cylinder NA petrol engine and 1.2L turbo petrol. While the naturally aspirated unit churns out a peak power output of 82 PS and 115 Nm of maximum torque, the 1.2L turbo engine on the other hand delivers a peak power output of 110 PS and a maximum torque output of 190 Nm. For those wondering, the NA engine will be offered only with a 5-speed manual gearbox while the turbo engine on the other hand is likely to be offered with either a 6-speed auto or 6-speed manual gearbox.

The new Citroen C3-based 7-seater MPV will be priced from Rs 9-10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) in the country and will take on the rivals like the Maruti Ertiga, XL6, Kia Carens and the Kia Triber in India. Having said this, the brand is also working on launching the new electric eC3 in the country and will position it as a direct rival to the Tata Tiago EV in the market.
