The Ola S1 Pro-rivaling Ather 450X Gen 3 now boasts a bigger battery and better range per charge

Ather launched the new Ather 450X Gen 3 in the Indian market with a host of updates to give tough competition to the rivals like the Ola S1 Pro, Simple One, Bajaj Chetak and the TVS i-Qube. The brand claims that most of these updates are based on customer feedback and have made the scooter a promising alternative to most of the electric two-wheelers in India. Having said this, here are the top five things that you should know about the new Ather 450X Gen 3 in India.

Bigger Battery, More Range

The Ather 450X Gen 3 now features a larger 3.7 kWh battery pack that has replaced the older 2.9 kWh unit. The new larger battery now helps the Ather 450X Gen 3 boast a maximum real-world range of 105 km on a single charge in the Eco mode. The previous iteration of this electric scooter only had a range of 85 km. Furthermore, this new battery pack is said to have a 25 per cent long life and features better thermal management. For those wondering, this new larger battery pack is heavier by 3.6 kg.

Improved Performance

In addition to a larger battery pack, the 450X Gen 3 also features a more powerful motor that now boasts a peak power output of 6.2 kW, which is 0.2 kW more than the earlier one. The top speed is now claimed to be 90kmph. The previous version of the scooter had a top speed of 80 kmph. The nominal power output from this motor however remains similar at 3.3 kW.

Better Display

The brand has now reworked on the software and the hardware to help the 7.0-inch TFT display offer a better response. This was achieved by doubling the RAM size, from 1 GB to 2 Gb. In addition to this, several other features including voice commands and multi-language support are also expected to be introduced soon.

Wider Tyres And Better Practicality

One of the major highlights of the Ather 450X Gen 3 is the new wider tyres. The new MRF tyres that the 450X Gen 3 is shod with are now wider and have a different tread pattern to help improve the grip and the braking distance. In addition to this, the Ather 450X Gen 3 is offered with an accessory sidestep for the pillion and new mirrors.

New Price List

The 450X Gen 3 is now slightly more expensive than before and is now priced from Rs 1.39 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) after all the subsidies, thus making it Rs 1,000 more expensive in the national capital.
