Maruti To Soon Expand Its CNG Portfolio In India - Details

Cars like the Maruti Brezza CNG and the Maruti Baleno CNG will soon be launched in the country for buyers looking for a cheap-to-drive and reliable workhorses

With the demand for CNG cars increasing due to the rising fuel costs in the country, a number of carmakers are expanding their portfolio with the launch of new CNG cars. Maruti Suzuki currently has one of the biggest CNG portfolios in the Indian market and is soon expected to launch many new offerings for buyers in the country. If you are also planning to buy a new CNG car soon, here is a list of the upcoming Maruti CNG cars that will soon make their Indian debut.

Maruti To Soon Launch Multiple New CNG Cars

Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG

The new Brezza is currently one of the strongest rivals to the other cars in the sub-4m compact SUV segment and is offered with a feature-rich and premium package for the buyers. Strong rumours suggest that the new Brezza will soon make its Indian debut and will be the first CNG SUV in the country. From what we know so far, the new Brezza CNG will be offered with a 1.5L K15C Bi-Fuel CNG engine that churns out a peak power and torque output of 102 bhp and 136.8 Nm respectively. This engine, in the Brezza, is likely to be offered either with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed AT gearbox option. On the features front, it will be offered with a panoramic sunroof, a large touchscreen infotainment system, a semi-digital instrument console, push-button start, electrically operated ORVMs, auto climate control, and more.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG

The new Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG is also expected to soon make it to the showrooms and is likely to be offered with the same 1.2L CNG engine that is also offered with the Swift CNG and the Dzire CNG. In its petrol iteration, this motor churns out 89 bhp and a peak torque output of 113 Nm. In the CNG mode, it is likely to produce a little over 75 bhp and is expected to be offered with a 5-speed gearbox option. Having said this, the new Baleno CNG will continue to offer a similar features list that includes features like auto climate control, touchscreen infotainment system, push-button start, and more. Once launched, the Brezza will be the only CNG car in the premium hatchback segment.

Maruti Suzuki XL6 CNG

A number of recent reports suggest that the Indian carmaker is also working on launching the new XL6 with a CNG powertrain. The Maruti XL6 will utilise the same CNG powertrain as the Ertiga CNG and will be powered by a 1.5L k15C engine that churns out 87 bhp and a maximum torque output of 121.5 Nm. This engine will be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox while the brand may also offer an automatic CNG variant for the buyers. The XL6 is currently one of the most comfortable and VFM offerings in the market and takes on the rivals like the Kia Carens, Mahindra Marazzo, and other 7-seater MPVs in the segment. It is also offered with a long list of features that give it an edge over many of its rivals.

Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 CNG

Maruti recently relaunched the new Alto K10 in the Indian market and the car now not only boasts an all-new architecture, but in addition to this, also gets revised exterior styling, a premium cabin, and many new features that give it an edge over many of the rivals. The Indian carmaker recently confirmed that the new Alto K10 CNG will soon make its Indian debut and will be offered with a 1.0L CNG powertrain. This engine is likely to churn out a peak power and torque output of 56 pS and 82.1 Nm respectively in the CNG mode. Needless to say, it will only be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox. More details will soon be revealed by the brand. Once launched in India, the new Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 CNG will take on the rivals like the Tiago CNG and the Santro CNG in India.
