Maruti Suzuki is all set to soon launch the new Baleno-based crossover in the Indian market and will position it to take on the rivals like the Tata Punch and the Citroen C3 in the Indian market. The Indian carmaker is soon expected to unveil at the upcoming Auto Expo in India officially. The car was recently spied on test ahead of the launch in the country. Having said this, here are all the details you should know about the upcoming Maruti Baleno-based crossover.
Upcoming Maruti YTB Crossover
For starters, the new Baleno-based crossover is likely to be offered with a beefed-up exterior styling that will be dominated by a large front grille, LED projector headlights, dual-tone machine-cut alloy wheels, body cladding, and a large air dam. In addition to this, the new Maruti YTB Crossover is also likely to be offered with a high ground clearance that makes it a great choice for anyone looking for a compact and practical offering in the segment.

Inside, the new Baleno-Crossover is likely to feature a similar dashboard layout as the standard version of the car and will be offered with a large touchscreen infotainment system, semi-digital instrument console, 360-degree camera, automatic climate control, push-button start, heads-up display, auto-dimming IRVMs, electrically operated rearview mirrors, and more. On the safety front, this new Maruti mini-SUV will be offered with features like dual front airbags, seat belt reminders, ABS, EBD, etc.

Internally codenamed the YTB Crossover, this new car is likely to be offered with two engine options – 1.2L K12C petrol and 1.0L Boosterjet turbo petrol. The same 1.2L petrol engine is being offered with the new Maruti Baleno in India and churns out a peak power and torque output of 88 bhp and 113 Nm respectively. Having said this, the brand is likely to offer this engine with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. The turbo petrol engine on the other hand is likely to deliver a peak power output of 100 bhp. The brand might also offer a CNG engine with the new Maruti Baleno based crossover. more details will be shared at the time of the official launch.

The brand is expected to showcase this new crossover at the upcoming Auto Expo 2023 and will price it around Rs 8-10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Having said this, once launched in the Indian market, it will take on the rivals like the Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Tata punch, lower trims of other mainstream sub-4-meter SUVs such as Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, and more.
