With Hyundai sharing its plan to launch a number of new cars in the Indian market in the next few months, multiple reports suggest that it will soon be launching the new Verna and the Creta facelift in the country. In addition to this, the Korean carmaker is also likely to launch a new mini-SUV to take on the rivals like the Tata Punch and the Maruti Ignis in the Indian market. Exterior Design
From what we know so far, this new mini SUV will share its underpinnings with the Grand i10 Nios. For those wondering, the same K1 platform also underpins multiple other Hyundai cars like the Grand i10, Aura, i20 and the Venue. On the design front, the new Hyundai Ai3 Mini SUV will offer a quirky and bold style language and will be offered with features like projector lights, machine-cut alloy wheels, LED DRLs, LED tail lights, chrome exterior elements, and more. In addition to this, the reports also suggest that this new SUV will measure close to 3.6 metres in length and will be positioned as one of the most affordable Hyundai cars in the country. Interiors And Cabin
The Indian-sped version of this new entry-level SUV will boast a premium and practical cabin dominated by a styling centre console. It is likely to be shorter and narrower than the Santro hatchback and hence will offer a compact and premium cabin. The quality levels and panel gaps are expected to be better than the segment standard and in all, this new mini-SUV will offer an impressive in-cabin experience for the buyers.

Features
On the features front, the new Hyundai Ai3 Mini SUV will be offered with features like a large touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay, Steering mounted controls, day/night IRVM, electrically operated ORVMs, push-button start, central locking, rear defogger, and more. On the safety front, it is expected to be offered with dual airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS, EBD, seat belt reminders, speed alert system and many other complimentary safety features.

Powertrain
As far as the reports suggest, the new Hyundai A3 SUV is likely to be offered with a 1.2L petrol engine that churns out a peak power output of 82 bhp while the maximum torque stands at 114 Nm. The same engine is offered with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and comes mated to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or an AMT gearbox. The Korean carmaker is also expected to offer CNG powertrain and turbo petrol powertrain options with a few variants.

Price And Expected Launch
The new Hyundai Ai3 Mini SUV will be positioned as one of the most affordable offerings in the brands line-up and is likely to be priced from Rs 5-6 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variants. It is likley to go on sale somewhere next year or early 2024. Once launched, it will take on the rivals like the Tata Punch, Maruti Ignis, Nissan Magnite, Citreon C3, and the Renualt Kiger.
