There are strong reports in the country right now regarding the launch of the new Hond XRE 300 in India after the bike was spied testing in the country. The new XUV300 will be the most affordable Honda ADV in the country and will be offered with a flex-fuel powertrain. Here are the top 5 things that you should check out about the upcoming Honda XRE 300.

Engine

The new XRE 300 gets a 291.6 cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 25.4 hp and a peak power output of 27.6 Nm while it comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. This engine can run on ethanol as well as petrol and is likely to be the first flex-fuel powertrain to be offered with a two-wheeler in the country.

Underpinnings

The XRE 300 is underpinned by a semi-double cradle chassis unlike many of the rivals that get a modern trellis frame. The suspension duties are handled by a telescopic fork at the front and mono-shock suspension at the rear with 245 mm and 225 mm travel respectively. The braking hardware on the other hand consists of 256 mm disc brakes at the front and 220 mm disc brakes at the rear. The brakes come coupled with dual-channel ABS for better performance. The ground clearance is measured at 259 mm while the seat height is claimed to be 860 mm in height.

Features

The new Honda XRE 300 will be offered with features like LED lights, a simple negative LCD display, an electric start, etc. The rivals on the other hand offer a more extensive features list for the buyers.

Expected Price And India Launch

The Honda XRE 300 is likely to be priced under Rs 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom) in India and is expected to make its debut in the country in the next couple of months. More details however will only be launched by the brand near the official launch date of the bike.

Rivals

In the Indian market, the upcoming Honda XRE 300 will take on the rivals like the Royal Enfiled Himalayan, Yezdi Adventure, BMW G 310 GS, and the KTM 390 Adventure. It will also challenge the upcoming bikes like the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and Hero’s 300cc adventure bike of the Indian market that was recently spied on test in the country ahead of the launch.
