The new 2023 Honda City facelift will be offered with updated powertrain options, new features, and refreshed exterior styling
The Honda City is one of the most popular and best-selling sedans in its segment and gives stiff competition to the rivals like the Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia, VW Virtus, and Maruti Ciaz in India. While the fifth-gen model was launched in the country a couple of years ago, the brand is now all set to launch the facelift iteration of the car in the country in the next few months. Here are all the details you need to know about the upcoming Honda City 2023 facelift that you should check out.
2023 Honda City Facelift Launch By March
From what we know so far, the new Honda City facelift will get a number of changes as part of the mid-life update including an updated exterior design, new features, better safety features, and updated powertrain options. For starters, the new Honda City facelift is likely to feature a new and larger black grille with sleek LED lights on either end. In addition to this, it is also expected to get a revised front bumper with larger air dams and updated fog lamps.

Inside, the new Honda City 2023 facelift model will get a similar dashboard layout and many new features like a wireless charger and ventilated front seats. Other than this, it will continue to be offered with features like automatic climate control, steering mounted controls, a cooled storage console, auto-dimming IRVM, push-button start, power-operated side mirrors, and a semi-digital instrument console.

Powering the new 2023 Honda City facelift will be two powertrain options – 1.5L NA petrol and 1.5L Atkinson cycle petrol hybrid. To start with, the 1.5L NA i-VTEC petrol engine churns out a peak power output of 121 hp and can be had either with a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. This engine returns a claimed mileage of 18.4 kmpl. The second engine on the other hand is a strong-hybrid petrol engine that churns out a combined power output of 126 bhp and is offered only with an e-CVT gearbox. This engine delivers a claimed mileage of around 26.5 kmpl. The present iteration of the City is also offered with a 1.5L diesel engine that delivers a peak power and torque output of 100 bhp and 200 Nm respectively. This engine will no more be on offer with the facelift iteration.

While the present version of the Honda City 5th-gen is priced from Rs 11.87 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new facelift model is said to be around Rs 1-1.5 lakh more expensive and will offer many new features. In addition to this, the brand is also working on launching a new mid-size SUV to take on the rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Once launched, the new Honda City 5th-gen facelift model will take on the rivals like the Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia, VW Virtus, and Maruti Ciaz in India.
