The bike takes on the rivals like the Suzuki Gixxer 250, KTM 250 Duke, and the BMW G 310 R. Engine, Gearbox, And Performance

Powering the Honda CB300F is the same 293.2cc single-cylinder engine. This engine churns out 24.4 hp of maximum power while the peak torque output stands at 25.6 Nm. It comes mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and boasts strong performance while the refinement levels are great as well. The gearbox is easy and slick to operate while the clutch is light and has decent travel.

The KTM 290 Duke on the other hand gets a 248.7 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled petrol engine that boasts a peak power and torque output of 30 hp and 24 Nm respectively. This engine is also coupled with a six-speed manual gearbox. It is the strong top-end that helps the KTM 250 Duke give tough competition to the rivals. Out of the two, it surely is the KTM 290 Duke that feels more energetic but it is the CB300F that offers a relaxed and refined riding experience.

Design And Dimensions

The new Honda CB300F gets extremely aggressive styling and features a naked bodystyle. The bike gets golden USD forks at the front and attractive graphics that give it a strong road presence. The fit and finish levels are better than most of the rivals and the panel gaps too are uniform. For those wondering, the bike has 789 mm in height, a 1390 mm wheelbase, and a 177 mm ground clearance. It has a claimed kerb weight of 153 kg, making it almost 20 kg lighter than the KTM 250 Duke.

The KTM 250 Duke on the other hand is not only heavier but also has a taller seat height of 823 mm. The wheelbase measures 1357 mm and the ground clearance is measured at 151 mm. On the design front, the bike gets an extremely aggressive styling that is complemented by bright orange accents. The Duke 250, just like the Honda CB300F, features a naked body style and looks sporty and aggressive.

Both these bikes offer a similar package for the buyers and offer impressive performance, sorted dynamics, and great build quality. The powertrain too is comparable but it is the KTM 250 Duke that feels more agile and energetic. The Honda CB300F on the other hand is more refined and boasts a more relaxed riding experience. The Honda CB300F also feels slightly more premium and well built. In all, picking a clear winner here is extremely difficult as both these bikes are almost similar in every other department.
