The Ather 450X and Ola S1-rivalling Hero Vida electric scooter will make its Indian debut on October 7, 2022
Hero MotoCorp is all set to launch its first-ever electric scooter in India on October 7, 2022, under its EV subsidiary, Vida. This new electric scooter will take on the rivals like the Ola S1 and the Ather 450X. While the brand was earlier planning to launch its first e-scooter in India in March 2022 but postponed the launch twice due to supply chain issues and production setbacks. The electric scooter is now all set to make its debut this festive season and here are all the details you should know about the upcoming Hero Vida electric scooter in India.
Hero Vida Electric Scooter
For those wondering, Hero MotoCorp will be offering the new electric scooters and bikes under the brand name Vida, a brand new identity for its emerging mobility solutions. The first Hero Vida electric scooter will be manufactured at the automaker’s ‘Green’ manufacturing facility in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh.

From what we know so far, the new Hero MotoCorp electric scooter is likely to be offered with a mid-mounted electric motor that will draw charge from a lithium-ion battery pack. This setup will offer a claimed range of over 120 km on a single charge. The specifications will help the scooter take on the rivals like the Ather 450X, Simple One, and the Ola S1. Having said this, the official specifications and features are yet to be shared by the brand in the country.
The Ather 450X Gen 3 model was recently launched in India and now gets a bigger, 3.9 kWh battery pack that powers a 6 kWh motor with a claimed torque output of 26 Nm. The scooter now gets many new features and has a claimed range of more than 100 km on a single charge in real-life conditions. The Ola S1 Pro on the other hand gets a 3.9 kWh battery pack and an 8.5 kWh electric motor. For those wondering, the new Ola S1 Pro offers a claimed range of 145 km on a single changer while the top speed is restricted to 115 kmph.
