Citroen is all set to preview the production-spec version of the C3 EV ahead of the launch in 2023 in the country. The brand had earlier dropped a teaser suggesting the debut of this new electric vehicle and will be taking the wraps off the new EV on September 29. Citroen C3 Electric SUV Launch In 2023
For starters, this new upcoming electric car is likely to measure under 4m in length and will be based on the same platform as the C3 hatchback. Furthermore, it will also share the same C-Cubed design language. It is however worth noting the fact that this modular eCMP platform will be slightly modified to accommodate the new electric powertrain and a large battery pack. The same platform is currently being used to underpin other electric cars like the Peugeot e-208 and the new Jeep Avenger in the global markets. The test mules of this new upcoming Citroen EV were recently seen testing on multiple occasions.

n the design front, we are not expecting any major changes to be offered with the new Citroen C3 electric SUV and it will continue to boast a similar quirky design language. The car might feature some tweaked exterior trim elements to distinguish it from the standard ICE version while we might also see new ally wheels being offered with this new electric SUV. If the brand’s claims are to be believed, the new C3 electric SUV will have 90 per cent localisation but the batteries will be imported into the country in the initial production phase. For those wondering, Citroen electric SUV will be manufactured at the brand’s Chennai plant.

The Citroen C3 electric SUV will be one of the most affordable electric cars in the country and will take on the rivals like the upcoming Tata Punch EV, upcoming Mahindra eKUV100, and the Nexon EV Prime.
Citroen is also working on more electric models that will be underpinned by the same eCMP platform. These will include an MPV, a CUV and a three-row version of the C3 hatchback. More details however are yet to be shared by the brand.
