BYD recently became the world’s largest electric carmaker and is now slowly expanding its footprint in the Indian market. The Chinese carmaker is now working on launching the new Atto 3 electric crossover. From what we know so far, the new BYD Atto 3 will be launched on October 3, 2022. Here are all the details you should know about the upcoming BYD Atto 3 electric crossover in the country.

Upcoming BYD Atto 3 Electric Crossover

For starters, the new BYD Atto 3 will be underpinned by an E3 platform and is likely to measure around 4.5 metres in length. For those wondering, the car measures 1875 mm in width, 1615 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2720 mm. The Atto 3 is already on sale in Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand. In India, the new Atto 3 will be brought in via the SKD (Semi-Knocked Down) Assembly route in India. Many online reports also suggest that the Atto 3 price in India is likely to start from Rs 25-30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Powering the new BYD Atto 3 will be the Blade Battery that not only offers an impressive range but also leads in thermal efficiency and management. Furthermore, this new upcoming BYD electric car will be offered with a front-mounted electric motor with a claimed peak power and torque output of 204 PS and 310 Nm respectively. In the global markets, the Atto 3 is offered with two battery packs – 60.48 kWh and 49.92 kWh. Both these battery packs will be offered multiple charging options including AC fast charging.

On the features front, the BYD Atto 3 will get a large panoramic sunroof, a 12.8 touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, PM 2.5 air filter, synthetic leather upholstery, powered front seats, wireless charging pad, and keyless entry and start. It also gets a long list of safety features and technology such as even airbags, a 360-degree view monitor, front and rear parking sensors, and hill descent control. Other active driver assist features like adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, front and rear collision warning, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning and lane keeping assist, and rear cross-traffic alert and braking are also offered with the Atto 3.
