The battery in this vehicle ranges from 25.0 to 100.0 kWh. Aptera Paradigm models range in power from 134 to 201 bhp. Humble Motors, a California-based start-up company, has designed and presented the SUV Humble One to the world, similar to Aptera Paradigm. This vehicle is also solar powered, with a solar roof, side lights that generate electricity, peer-to-peer charging, regenerative braking, and fold-out solar array wings for battery charging. With the help of all of this, the SUV’s battery charges quickly. When driving at night when there is no sunlight, Humble One could travel up to 500 miles.

Hyundai’s Sonata Hybrid
Hyundai released a new version of its hybrid car, the Sonata, in 2019 with solar panels on the roof that allow the battery to be recharged while driving. The solar panels, according to the company, can charge between 30% and 60% of the battery in the car. The New Sonata Hybrid features the world’s first Active Shift Control (ASC) technology as well as a solar roof charging system. The solar panels can generate enough energy to “increase drivers’ annual travel distance by an additional 1,300 km.”
Lightyear One
Lightyear One is a long-distance solar car designed to be grid-independent and capable of driving anywhere. According to the manufacturer, the car consumes only 83 Wh/km, which is two to three times less energy than any other electric vehicle on the market today. The Sion’s liquid cooled battery has a capacity of 54 kWh, allowing it to travel up to 305 kilometres on a single charge – depending on weather and driving style.
Surprisingly, Sion can be used as mobile energy storage in addition to being a car, such as while camping, on a construction site, or simply at home. It is possible to power all common electronic devices with up to 3.7 kW using any regular household plug and Sion’s bidirectional charging technology.
Fisker Ocean
Henrikh Visker has earned a reputation in the UV world as a con artist after his black and hybrid karma and all-electric emotion sports cars failed. This time, the infamous designer is entering the electric crossover market, promising to build the segment’s most affordable long-range model. An 80-kilowatt-hour battery with a range of up to 300 miles is installed in the ocean. Fisker does not reveal its capacity or charging capabilities, but the company does state that it is intended to improve the economy and range of the crossover. The prototype, as usual, sounds appealing, but only time will tell if Henrik lives up to his promises.
