All-New Honda WR-V SUV Revealed - Top Details To Know!

The new Honda WR-V will first make its debut in the Indonesian market and is likely to later come to the Indian market next year

It’s no secret to anyone that honda is currently working on multiple new SUVs that are likely to soon make their debut in the market. To start with, Honda is likely to first launch the new-gen WR-V and recently launched teaser images of the SUV. The newly teased new-gen Honda WR-V boasts a new and unique design, a premium cabin, and refined engine options. Here are all the details that you should check out about the upcoming all-new Honda WR-V SUV.

New-Gen Honda WR-V SUV

On the exterior design front, the new Honda WR-V shares its styling cues with the recently showcased Honda Concept RS and boasts a strong road presence. Furthermore, the SUV might also remind you of other bigger Honda SUVs like the HR-V and the CR-V that are currently on sale in the global markets.

Furthermore, the new WR-V SUV, with its coupe-SUV-Like styling, gets an angular tailgate design. It also gets large glass windows and steeply raked front and rear glass. The side profile is largely dominated by a prominent shoulder line and chunky body cladding on the lower parts of the doors. It also gets large alloy wheels.

At the front, you get a stylish angular wraparound headlamp and a new front grille with an elegant bumper design. The air dam is wide and looks subtle. At the rear, you will get sleek LED tail-lamps, chunky bumpers, and a faux skid plate.

From what we know so far, the new Honda WR-V is underpinned by the same platform that underpins the previous-gen Honda City. It is likely to measure around 4 metres in length, 1608 mm in height, and 1780 mm in width.

Furthermore, the new-gen WR-V gets a claimed boot space of around 380 litres and a ground clearance of around 220 mm. It is also likely to get two styling packages – WR-V E and WR-V RS. While the WR-V E variant boasts simpler styling cues and 16-inch alloy wheels while the WR-V RS on the other hand looks sportier and features red accents, a new grille and all-black interiors, and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, it features an elegant dashboard layout which is almost identical to the Honda Amaze. it is also offered with analogue dials with a 4.2-inch MID, a large touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, steering-mounted controls, push-button start, and more.

On the safety front, the new WR-V SUV is expected to be offered with a long list of new features including six airbags, and ADAS Honda-Sensing tech that comes with features like lane keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control and auto high beam assist.

In the Indonesian market, it will be offered with a 1.5L petrol engine that churns out a peak power output of 121 hp while the maximum torque stands at 145 Nm. This engine will either be offered with a five-speed manual gearbox or with a CVT gearbox. We see the same engine being offered with Honda City in India.

In the Indian market, this new sedan might also get a 1.2L i-VTEC petrol engine or a 1.5L Atkinson cycle strong-hybrid engine. The brand might also launch some of the variants with a diesel engine.
