The Tata Altroz is offered with three powertrain options – 1.2L Revotron NA Petrol, 1.2L Turbo Petrol, and 1.5L Diesel. The brand also introduced the new Altroz CNG in the market a few days ago and is also said to be working on the all-electric version of the hatchback. Alongside the new Tata Altroz CNG, the brand also showcased the Altroz Racer for the buyers looking for a more sportier iteration of the premium hatchback. While the brand is yet to announce the official price of the new Altroz Racer, it will position it as a direct rival to the Hyundai i20 N Line. Engine, Gearbox, And Performance
To start with, the new Tata Altroz Racer will be offered with a 1.2L Turbocharged petrol engine that we also get with the Tata Nexon. This engine churns out a peak power output of 120 PS @ 5500 rpm and 170 Nm @ 1750-4000 rpm. This new three-cylinder petrol engine will be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Needless to say, the performance offered by this motor is better than most of the rivals. For a quick comparison, the Hyundai i20 N Line on the other hand is offered with a 1.0L TGDi petrol engine that churns out a peak power output of 120 PS while the maximum torque stands at 172 Nm. Design And Dimensions
The Tata Altroz Racer boasts a number of visual updates that give it a stronger road presence than the standard iteration of the car. For starters, it gets a red-black paint scheme with white accented dual stripes on the hood while the roof gets a checkered pattern. In addition to this, it also gets a gloss black finish on the ORVMs, roof rails, an extended spoiler at the back, and alloy wheels. Apart from that, no cosmetic changes have been made to the Altroz Racer and it continues to get an aggressive styling along with features like projector lights, LED tail lights, and more. For those wondering, it is 3990 mm long, 1755 wide, and 1523 mm tall while the wheelbase is measured at 2501 mm. Interiors And Features
Inside, the new 2023 Tata Altroz Racer gets an all-black cabin with a new 10.25-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system that now boasts a new sleeker and easy-to-navigate UI. In addition to this, it also gets a new seven-inch digital instrument console and black-red garnish on many of the dashboard trim elements. The seats also get a new upholstery design that gives it a sportier character. The car also gets many new features including segment-first ventilated front seats, a voice-activated electric sunroof, a wireless charger, and an air purifier. Likewise, the Hyundai i20 N Line is also offered with similar changes including an all-black cabin, sporty red inserts, a new upholstery design, and more.
