At a very consistent pace, Range Rover is updating its model line-up. The company recently launched the new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport in India, and now, it has globally unveiled the 2023 Range Rover Velar. It isn’t a new-gen model, but gets significant changes to pass on as a mid-cycle refresh. The mid-size SUV of the brand will see a generation change in the next couple of years, but for now, a facelift is what it receives. 2023 Range Rover Velar Facelift: Updated Design
The Range Rover Velar continues with a rather familiar design even in its facelifted form. The silhouette is unchanged, but it now features a new headlamp cluster, along with a redesigned radiator grille. Design for the alloy wheels is updated as well. Alongside, a new rear bumper now shows up on the Velar.
2023 Range Rover Velar Facelift: New Touchscreen Display
The dashboard on the 2023 Range Rover Velar facelift features a free-standing 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, which runs on JLR’s Pivi Pro interface. The steering wheel is refreshed units, and the dashboard now looks more upmarket with a rather opulent appeal.
2023 Range Rover Velar Facelift: Buttonless Interior
Interestingly, there are no buttons on the centre console, and the British marque claims that you can perform at least 80% of all operations with just two taps on the screen. Also, the SUV now comes with an active road noise cancellation suite, which is designed to keep the raid.
2023 Range Rover Velar Facelift: Increased Range on Battery-only Mode
The P400e Plug-in hybrid variant of the Range Rover Velar gets increased battery capacity in the facelifted iteration. The size of the battery pack capacity is now increased from 13.6 kWh to 19.2 kWh. Consequently, the SUV can now run 64 kilometres on battery power alone, which is an increment of 11 km over the pre-facelift version.
2023 Range Rover Velar Facelift: Autobiography Remains Out of Sight
The Velar has a limited-run Autobiography trim earlier, which came with a big-fat 5.0L V8 power house. Well, the company has decided to keep the Autobiography trim out of books, even with this refresh. The supercharged motor on the range-topping version could belt out 549 PS of peak power, aiding it with a 0-100 kmph timing of 4.5 seconds.
