The MG Hector Hybrid will challenge the upcoming Tata Harrier facelift in the Indian market and will boast a feature-rich and premium package for the buyers
The MG Hector is currently positioned as one of the most premium SUVs in the Indian market and gives strong competition to the rivals like the Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV700, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and the Jeep Compass. The brand recently showcased the upcoming MG Hector Hybrid which will soon make its debut in the market. Having said this, here is everything that you should know about the upcoming 2023 MG Hector Hybrid SUV in the market.
MG Hector Hybrid
For starters, the new MG Hector Hybrid will share its underpinnings and powertrain with the Wuling Almaz and the concept was first showcased at the Indonesia Electric Motor Show 2022 at JCC Senayan Jakarta. The new Hybrid concept gets a new design that is largely dominated by an aggressive front fascia, RS-specific bumpers, and sharp cuts and creases on the body panels. In addition to this, it also features 18-inch alloy wheels, blacked-out elements and a strong road presence. Needless to say, it will continue to be offered with a prominent front grille, LED lights, bumper-mounted DRLs and LED rear tail lights.

From what we know so far, the new MG Hector Hybrid will also get a major update in terms of the features and will also be offered with ADAS safety tech that offers features like automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, blind spot detection, lane assist and others. Moving on, inside, the new MG Hector Hybrid will be offered with features like a large vertically mounted touchscreen infotainment system, a large panoramic sunroof, touch-operated dual-zone climate control, rear AC vents, seat ventilation, digital instrument console, push-button start, and connected car tech.

The new Concept model features a 2.0L powertrain that churns out a combined peak power and torque output of 174 bhp and 320 Nm respectively. This setup consists of a 134 bhp engine that comes mated to a dual-motor P1+P3 generator unit. The claimed fuel economy from this setup stands at around 22 kmpl and is offered with a Li-ion battery pack. The MG Hector Hybrid will be one of the first SUVs in the segment to be offered with a strong hybrid engine in the country.
The new MG Hector Hybrid is expected to make its Indian debut in mid-2023 and will be sold alongside the standard MG Hector. For those wondering, the MG Hector will continue to be offered with other powertrain options that include diesel and petrol motors. More details will soon be shared by MG.
