2023 Honda City Facelift Spied Testing - What To Expect!

The new 2023 Honda City facelift is likely to be offered only with petrol and hybrid powertrain options and might miss out on a diesel engine

The Honda City is currently one of the most practical and VFM sedans in the Indian market and takes on the rivals like the Hyundai Verna, VW Virtus, Skoda Slavia, and Maruti Ciaz in its segment. Currently in its fifth gen, the new Honda City will soon be due for a mid-life update and the facelift model of the sedan was recently spied testing in Indonesia. While the Japanese carmaker is expected to launch this new sedan somewhere in 2023, here are all the details you should know about the upcoming 2023 Honda City facelift in India.

2023 Honda City Facelift Spied – Details

Sedans are now getting some significant demand in the market and a number of brands including Skoda and Volkswagen recently launched their new products in the segment. The Honda City continues to be one of the most popular offerings in the segment and offers a premium and comfortable package for buyers looking for a reliable and well-built sedan in the segment.

The brand will be soon launching the new 2023 Honda City facelift in the market and is currently testing the upcoming model in Indonesia. The new facelift model will offer a long list of updates including a new front fascia, updated cabin, new features, and updated powertrain options.

From what see, the new Honda City facelift gets a re-styled bumper with new fog lamp housing and air dams. It also gets a new plastic grille at the front and a revised side skirt design. Furthermore, it is also expected to get a revised rear bumper, a new rear spoiler, and an updated tail light design. The alloy wheels might also be new and the brand is likely to use a different profile for the tyres.

The upcoming Honda City facelift, in India, will be offered with either a 1.5L i-VTEC petrol engine or a 1.5L Atkinson cycle strong hybrid petrol engine. Having said this, the Thai-spec version of the sedan is also offered with a 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine that churns out a peak power and torque output of 122 bhp and 173 Nm respectively. Needless to say, the Honda City is offered with both manual as well as automatic gearbox options.

In addition to this, the new Honda City facelift is also likely to be offered with Level 1 ADAS safety tech in addition to other basic features like multiple airbags, ABS, EBD, seat belt reminders, seat belt pre-tensioners, and more.
