Maruti will soon be launching the new Alto K10 in the market to take on the rivals like the Renault Kwid and the Tata Tiago. This will be a new-gen model and will be based on the brand’s modular HEARTECT platform. The new Alto K10 will also boast an updated cabin and a new exterior styling that will give it a stronger road presence. While the brand will soon be launching the new Alto K10 in the market, the base model of the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 LXI was recently spied at the dealer’s yard. Here are all the details to know about the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 base model.

Next-Gen 2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 LXI Base Model

The new Maruti Suzuki K10 gets an updated front fascia while the side profile shows that the car is now much taller than before. The swept-back headlamps at the front and a short bumper does give it a fresh stance while the larger grille at the centre does gel in well with the overall character of the car. In all, the new design not only gives it a better stance but also suggests that the car is now significantly larger than the outgoing model. The base spec version misses out on any chrome trim elements at the front, fog lamps, wheel covers, electrically folding ORVMs, and more. From what we know so far, this new family hatchback will be offered in six colour options – Solid White, Granite Grey, Silky White, sizzling Red, Speedy Blue and Earth Gold.

The cabin of the new Alto K10 base variant also misses out on many features like steering-mounted controls, touchscreen infotainment system, power windows, day/night IRVM, and more. The car however will boast a spacious cabin and comfortable seats. Furthermore, it is also expected to miss out on features like remote locking, internally adjustable ORVMs, rear defogger, and more.

The new Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 will be launched in the Indian market on Aug 18, 2022. The bookings for the car have already commenced for Rs 11,000. The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 price will only be announced after the launch. Four variants will be offered for the buyers of the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 – Standard (STD), LXi, VXi, and VXi+.

The new Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 measures 3530 mm in length, 1490 mm in width, and 1520 mm in height. The wheelbase stands at 2380 mm. A quick look at the dimensions reveals that the new Alto K10 is 85 mm longer and 45 mm taller while the wheelbase is 20 mm longer than before. The boot space is claimed to be 177 litres while the ground clearance stands at 160 mm.

Powering the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 LXI is a new 1.0L K Series petrol engine that churns out a peak power or torque output of  67 hp and 89 Nm respectively. This engine can be had either with a five-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. The brand may also introduce the CNG iteration of the Alto K10 at the time of the official launch.
